Mobile, AL (BuzzReport)- A violent confrontation at a Midtown convenience store Thursday night left one man wounded but still determined enough to reclaim his stolen property, police said. Mobile police arrested 44-year-old Tavoris Norwood in connection with the incident, which began around 10:30 p.m. at the Quick Stop on Florida Street. Authorities allege that Norwood, who is homeless, attempted to steal an electric bicycle from a customer while the man was inside the store. Surveillance footage from the gas station shows a blue four-door sedan pulling up to a pump while the victim entered the shop. According to investigators, the suspect placed the bicycle in the trunk and prepared to leave. The theft came to light moments later when the victim stepped outside and noticed the bike missing. What happened next turned into a tense and violent struggle. Police say the suspect confronted the victim with a handgun, first aiming at the man’s head, then firing a single shot into his leg. Bleeding but undeterred, the victim engaged in a physical fight to stop the thief. The struggle played out in the open, even as an ambulance passed the location with its emergency lights flashing. In the chaos, the dispute shifted back toward the suspect’s sedan. Authorities report that the victim managed to reclaim his e-bike and walk Tavoris Norwood is now booked into Metro Jail.
