Cutting Incident at Mobile Apartment Complex Leads to Arrest

Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) — In the early morning hours of Tuesday, December 9, 2025, a disturbance at the Bay Terrace Apartments in Mobile resulted in the arrest of a 27-year-old woman. Mobile Police Department officers were dispatched to the residential complex, located at 2600 Michael Boulevard, at approximately 1:29 a.m. following reports of a cutting. 

Upon arrival, officers located an adult female who had sustained non-life-threatening injuries. According to investigators, the injury occurred during a physical altercation that followed a verbal dispute between the victim and another woman known to her. The assailant reportedly used a knife during the incident. 

The victim declined further medical evaluation at the scene. Authorities took Valerie Rease into custody without incident and transported her to Mobile County Metro Jail. She is facing charges related to the assault. 

Police have not released additional details about the circumstances leading up to the confrontation, but the investigation remains ongoing. Residents of the apartment complex were reportedly unsettled by the overnight activity, as several officers and police vehicles remained at the scene while evidence was processed.
