Mobile, AL (BuzzReport)- In the early hours of Sunday morning, a violent incident unsettled a quiet stretch of University Boulevard in Mobile. Just after 4:00 a.m., police officers responded to reports of an assault outside the Walmart located at the intersection of University Boulevard and Cottage Hill Road. Upon arrival, law enforcement found that a female bystander had been attacked in the parking lot. According to police findings, the victim witnessed a heated argument between a man and a woman. In an attempt to intervene, she was struck multiple times with a handgun by the male involved in the dispute. The injuries sustained by the victim were described as minor, and she declined medical treatment at the scene. Investigators have not released details regarding the relationship between the two individuals originally involved in the argument, nor whether any arrests have been made. The incident has unsettled many who frequent the busy shopping center, where late-night and early-morning activity is common due to the store’s operating hours. The location, a central retail hub for the surrounding neighborhoods, draws steady traffic and is typically considered safe by residents.
