MOBILE, AL (BuzzReport)— A typically quiet Monday afternoon on the 4700 block of Calhoun Road was disrupted by an act of violence that led to an arrest. At approximately 2:37 p.m. on November 3, Mobile Police Department officers were dispatched to the location following reports of a cutting.

Upon arrival, first responders discovered an adult female victim who had sustained minor injuries from an edged weapon. Medical personnel treated the woman at the scene, and her injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening.

A preliminary investigation by officers revealed the incident was not a random act. The altercation began as a verbal argument between the female victim and a man known to her. The domestic dispute escalated when the male subject allegedly produced a knife and cut the woman.

Following the on-scene investigation, officers took 63-year-old Eric Stephens into custody without further incident. Stephens was arrested on charges related to the assault and was subsequently transported to the Mobile County Metro Jail for processing.

The case remains under active investigation by the Mobile Police Department.
