SARALAND, AL(BuzzReport)- The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) has confirmed that a two-vehicle collision on Saturday, October 25, claimed the life of a Saraland resident. The fatal crash occurred at approximately 8:45 a.m., according to official reports released Sunday morning.

Jason A. Stanley, 48, of Saraland, was fatally injured in the incident. He was driving a 2002 Jeep Wrangler when the collision occurred.

ALEA investigators identified the second vehicle involved as a 2009 Mercedes-Benz CLK 350, driven by Nora T. Smith, 70, of Satsuma. While initial reports detail the involvement of both parties, the official incident report confirms that the Jeep driven by Stanley was struck by the Mercedes.

Stanley was pronounced dead at the scene. The condition of the second driver, Ms. Smith, was not immediately released by authorities.

A spokesperson for ALEA stated that the agency’s Highway Patrol Division is conducting a full reconstruction of the scene and crash dynamics to determine the precise factors contributing to the 8:45 a.m. fatality. As is standard protocol in all fatal incidents, the full details of the investigation remain ongoing.

Authorities have not yet provided information regarding potential charges or specific details about the location of the collision, but confirmed that further updates will be released pending the conclusion of the reconstruction investigation.
