Mobile, AL (BuzzReport)- A routine stop for coffee and gas Friday morning took a terrifying turn when a minor traffic dispute escalated into a brazen act of roadside violence, culminating in a vehicle being struck by gunfire on a nearby residential street. Police confirmed the arrest of 21-year-old Sidney Pinkard following the incident, which began around 8:25 a.m. at the Zippy Mart located at 5936 Three Notch Road. This near-collision immediately sparked a heated verbal altercation between Pinkard and the occupants of the second vehicle. According to the police report, Pinkard soon left the convenience store parking lot. However, the conflict did not end there. Pursuit and Gunfire Moments after the initial scene at the Zippy Mart dissolved, the victims—traveling in their own vehicle—were driving in the 4900 block of Easy Street when they were ambushed. Investigators confirmed that the victims’ vehicle was struck by gunfire. It was quickly discovered that Pinkard had allegedly located the victims and shot towards their vehicle. The specific nature of the pursuit or how the suspect encountered the victims on Easy Street is currently under investigation. The time of the incident—8:25 a.m.—places the shooting squarely during the morning rush hour, raising serious concerns over the extreme danger posed to the surrounding community. Miraculous Outcome and Arrest Despite the vehicle being struck, authorities confirmed that the occupants of the targeted vehicle miraculously sustained no injuries. They were able to notify law enforcement, who quickly moved to locate the shooter. Following the investigation, Sidney Pinkard, 21, was apprehended. She was arrested on charges related to the shooting and transported to Metro Jail, where she is currently being held. While the identities of the victims have not been released, police emphasized that the swift response ensured the suspect was taken into custody quickly, preventing further potential danger.
