Ex-Boyfriend with History of Domestic Violence Sought After Clinton Woman Executed in Her Home

CLINTON, MS (BuzzReport) – A high-priority manhunt is underway in Central Mississippi after a Clinton woman was found shot to death late Monday night in what police are investigating as a tragic case of domestic violence homicide.

Clinton Police Department (CPD) has identified 42-year-old Carlton D. Mack as the prime person of interest in the fatal shooting of his former partner, 45-year-old Jasmine Singleton. Authorities warn that Mack has an extensive history of domestic violence arrests and is considered armed and extremely dangerous.

A Quiet Street Shattered

The incident shattered the quiet of the 900 block of Cedar Hill Drive shortly after 11:00 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2025.

Responding officers arrived at the scene to find Jasmine Singleton deceased inside her home. According to police reports, Singleton had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was discovered on the kitchen floor.

Investigators quickly pieced together witness accounts and surveillance footage, which placed a distinct gold Chevrolet Tahoe fleeing the residence immediately following the sound of gunfire.

“Witnesses provided a description of the vehicle, and surveillance video confirmed those accounts,” said a CPD spokesperson early Tuesday morning. “The urgency of this case is paramount, given the nature of the crime and the suspect’s known history.”

Suspect Profile: Extensive History of Violence

The gold Tahoe was quickly traced back and registered to Carlton D. Mack, Singleton’s ex-boyfriend.

Police confirmed that Mack has a lengthy and alarming record with local law enforcement, including multiple prior arrests related to domestic assault and battery. The apparent targeted nature of the attack has led investigators to believe the motive is rooted in domestic conflict.

The search for Mack intensified early Tuesday morning when the suspect’s vehicle was located and recovered.
