Daphne, AL (BuzzReport) – The Daphne Police Department announced a major arrest last week, bringing a close—at least temporarily—to a brazen series of thefts that have plagued a local auto dealership for years. Sequan Hudson, 26, was taken into custody on October 2, 2025, marking his seventh arrest in four years for similar offenses, with four of those incidents involving the repeated targeting of a single location: Tameron Honda.

Hudson is currently being held on charges stemming from the theft of a brand-new 2026 Honda Civic.

“This arrest is significant not just because we recovered a stolen vehicle, but because it addresses a persistent pattern of criminal behavior,” stated a Daphne Police spokesperson. “Mr. Hudson appears to have an unusual and ongoing focus on Tameron Honda.”

The Never-Ending Cycle

According to records released by the Daphne Police Department (DPD), the latest incident began on September 27, 2025, when the 2026 Honda Civic was reported stolen from the dealership lot. Investigators successfully linked Hudson to the crime, leading to his arrest just days later (case #250900326).

This charge is merely the latest entry in a long and repetitive criminal history that has seen the suspect apprehended by multiple agencies across the Gulf Coast. The timeline of his known thefts linked directly to the same dealership is particularly striking:

  • October 2, 2025 (Daphne, AL): Arrested for the theft of a 2026 Honda Civic.
  • July 1, 2024 (Baldwin County): Arrested by the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office for Receiving Stolen Property 1st Degree after being found in possession of a 2023 Hyundai Elantra stolen just days earlier from Tameron Honda.
  • June 2, 2021 (Mobile, AL): Arrested by the Mobile Police Department for Receiving Stolen Property 1st Degree involving a 2014 Lexus IS 250 that originated from Tameron Honda.
  • May 8, 2021 (Mobile, AL): Arrested for the theft of a 2020 Honda Pilot.

Regional Problem, Repeated Release

In total, Sequan Hudson has been arrested seven times since 2021 on theft and stolen property charges. Authorities confirm that beyond the four Tameron Honda cases, Hudson has similar felony cases spread across Alabama in Baldwin, Mobile, and Lee counties.

The relentless nature of the alleged crimes, coupled with the suspect’s high rate of recidivism, raises serious questions about the effectiveness of the current judicial process in deterring repeat offenders. Each arrest involves multiple law enforcement man-hours, complex investigations, and significant cost to the community.

Escalating Offenses? New Investigation Underway

Adding a new, potentially broader dimension to Hudson’s criminal activity, investigators made a startling discovery during the October 2nd apprehension.

Daphne detectives seized multiple debit and credit cards that are believed to have been stolen from victims unrelated to the vehicle theft. The police department confirmed that a separate, ongoing investigation has been launched to identify the owners of the recovered financial instruments and determine the scope of these additional alleged thefts.

Hudson remains in custody at the Baldwin County Jail. Bail information was not immediately available at press time. Law enforcement officials urge anyone who may have relevant information regarding the stolen vehicles or the recovered credit cards to contact the Daphne Police Department immediately.
