Azalea Road Collision Claims Life of Local Resident

Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) – A tragic traffic incident on Thursday, October 9, 2025, has resulted in the death of a Mobile resident. At approximately 6:52 a.m., Mobile Police Department officers were dispatched to the intersection of Azalea Road and Airport Boulevard following reports of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle.

Upon arrival, first responders found a male victim exhibiting injuries and immediately transported him to a local hospital for emergency treatment. A preliminary investigation at the scene indicated the individual had been struck by a vehicle while crossing Azalea Road.

Later in the day, hospital staff informed the Mobile Police Department that the victim’s injuries were more severe than initially assessed. Sadly, James Bates, 68, succumbed to his injuries sustained in the collision.
