New Orleans, LA — The New Orleans Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a 39-year-old man wanted in connection with a violent shooting incident that unfolded last week in the Tremé neighborhood. Authorities say the suspect, identified as Taylor Michael Bonnette is wanted on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm. According to investigators, the incident occurred shortly after 8:15 p.m. on August 21, 2025, in the 1300 block of Basin Street. Police report that the victim was approached during a dispute when Bonnette allegedly drew a handgun and fired a single shot. Fortunately, the victim was not struck. Bonnette fled the scene immediately after the gunfire. Detectives quickly opened an investigation, gathering witness statements and reviewing available evidence, which ultimately led to Bonnette being identified as the suspect. Following their findings, a warrant for his arrest was issued. Police describe Bonnette as a white male who may still be armed and should be considered dangerous. Authorities are urging anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts to come forward. Anyone who may have information are asked to contact First District detectives at 504-658-6010.
