Mobile Man Arrested Following Handgun Assault on Rickarby Street

Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) – A 22-year-old Mobile man, Kentrail Franks, was arrested Tuesday night following an alleged assault in the 500 block of Rickarby Street where a victim was reportedly struck with a handgun.

Mobile Police Department officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 7:30 p.m. on September 2, 2025, after receiving reports of an assault. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a victim had sustained injuries after being struck with a handgun. Despite the nature of the assault, the victim reportedly refused medical attention from paramedics at the scene.

Authorities quickly located an individual matching the description of the alleged assailant nearby. Police identified the subject as Kentrail Franks, 22, who was known to the victim. Franks was subsequently detained without further incident.

Following his apprehension, Franks was transported to Metro Jail. He is currently being held on charges related to the assault, though specific charges have not yet been publicly released by the Mobile Police Department. Investigations into the altercation are ongoing, and further details are expected as the case progresses through the legal system.
