Employees Arrested After Stolen Vehicle, Suspected Marijuana Discovery in Mobile

Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) – Two Mobile men, identified as employees of a local establishment, were arrested yesterday afternoon after officers recovered a vehicle reported stolen and found a green leafy substance inside. The incident unfolded on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at approximately 4:00 p.m.

Authorities initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the vicinity of Government Street following reports that it had been illegally taken from its rightful owner. During the subsequent investigation, law enforcement officers determined that the two occupants of the vehicle, identified as Elijah McCorvey, 21, and Tyreque Blackmon, 19, were employees of the location from which the vehicle was reported stolen.

“Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that the two subjects were employees of the location and had illegally taken possession of it,” a police spokesperson stated. The nature of their employment or the specific type of business was not immediately disclosed.

Further inspection of the vehicle led to the discovery of a green leafy substance, which officers suspect to be marijuana. Both McCorvey and Blackmon were taken into custody without incident.

Following their arrests, Elijah McCorvey and Tyreque Blackmon were transported to Metro Jail, where they were booked on charges related to the incident. The investigation is ongoing, and further details may be released as they become available.
