Daphne, AL (BuzzReport)– Timothy “TJ” Yeldon, a former standout running back for the Alabama Crimson Tide and multiple NFL teams, was arrested early Wednesday morning, August 16, on charges including third-degree domestic violence, third-degree criminal mischief, and interference with a domestic violence emergency call. Yeldon, 31, of Daphne, was taken into custody following a tense situation that unfolded at a local residence, according to a news release from the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO). The incident began around 1 a.m. on August 16, when the BCSO received an emergency phone call transferred from 911. BCSO communications officers reportedly “could hear what was believed to be a domestic violence offense occurring between a male and female,” the release stated. Deputies were immediately dispatched to the 28000 block of State Highway 181. Upon their arrival, officials say, Yeldon saw the deputies, “turned off the lights and refused to open the door.” While deputies were outside, the caller, identified as the victim, managed to reach a bedroom and lock the door. However, the situation reportedly escalated inside the residence. The victim relayed to deputies that after the lights were turned off, the male party was “attempting to get into the bedroom with the victim.” Faced with this escalating and potentially dangerous situation, BCSO personnel “attempted to make forced entry.” At that point, Yeldon reportedly unlocked the door and was detained by deputies without further incident. Yeldon was subsequently transported to the BCSO corrections center. He was later released after posting a $2,000 bond. Timothy “TJ” Yeldon is widely recognized for his successful football career. After a prominent collegiate tenure at the University of Alabama, where he was a key figure for the Crimson Tide, he went on to play professionally in the NFL as a running back for both the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Buffalo Bills. It is important to note that an arrest is an accusation, and Yeldon is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
