Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) – A 69-year-old Mobile resident, Kenneth Reeves, is facing murder charges after a fatal stabbing incident that occurred on July 27, 2025. The victim, 33-year-old Crystal Varden, succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital last week. According to police reports, officers responded to a reported assault in the 600 block of Petit Avenue around 9:20 p.m. Upon arrival, they found Varden suffering from stab wounds. She was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The investigation revealed that the incident began as a verbal altercation between Reeves and Varden, which escalated into a physical confrontation. Reeves was taken into custody and transported to Metro Jail.
