Pike County, MS (BuzzReport) – A quick and decisive response by the Pike County Sheriff’s Office led to the apprehension of a Magnolia man and the significant recovery of stolen firearms and controlled substances following a high-speed pursuit this week. The incident unfolded when deputies from the Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division, supported by the specialized Gang Unit, attempted a routine traffic stop on a red passenger vehicle at the intersection of Bala Chitto Road and Pike 93 Central. The driver, however, refused to comply with the deputies’ lawful commands, instead fleeing onto Highway 48 and initiating a dangerous pursuit. The chase culminated when the suspect vehicle ultimately lost control, colliding with a Mississippi Department of Transportation work truck before veering sharply into a densely wooded area. The driver, identified as Jamarion Pounds of Magnolia, was promptly taken into custody by the pursuing deputies. This is an ongoing investigation, we will continue to bring you more information as it becomes available.
