Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) – A late-night robbery attempt at a local food truck ended in a fatal shooting early Sunday morning, with authorities identifying the deceased as 32-year-old Charles Patterson III. The incident, which occurred around 2:10 a.m. at the Super Stop located at 2061 St. Stephens Road, saw the food truck operator, unharmed, apparently act in self-defense. Police confirmed that officers responded to the location following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, emergency personnel discovered a male subject, later identified as Patterson, deceased from a gunshot wound. Further investigation at the scene revealed that Patterson had allegedly produced a firearm and attempted to rob the individual operating the food truck. In response to the perceived threat, the food truck operator also produced a firearm, discharging it and fatally striking Patterson. Authorities confirmed that the food truck operator was not injured during the confrontation. The incident remains an active investigation.
