NEW ORLEANS, LA (BuzzReport) – The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) has issued an urgent appeal to the public for assistance in an ongoing homicide investigation. Authorities are seeking three individuals who are believed to possess crucial information pertaining to a fatal incident that occurred on April 6, 2025, in the 7700 block of Willow Street.

The individuals sought are Tyre Stephens, a Black male; Elroy Richardson, a Black male; and Rodney Dantzler, also a Black male. Photographs of the three individuals have been released by the NOPD in conjunction with this appeal.

Investigators emphasize that Stephens, Richardson, and Dantzler are currently considered persons of interest in this case, not suspects. Their role in the investigation is strictly to provide further insight and information they are believed to possess regarding the circumstances surrounding the homicide. The NOPD is clear that these individuals are not wanted for the crime itself, but rather for the information deemed vital to piecing together the events of that tragic day.

The diligent work of homicide detectives is ongoing, and the cooperation of the community is often paramount in resolving such serious cases. Any detail, no matter how insignificant it may seem to an individual, could prove to be a critical piece of the puzzle for investigators.

The New Orleans Police Department urges anyone with information regarding the homicide on Willow Street, or the current whereabouts of Tyre Stephens, Elroy Richardson, or Rodney Dantzler, to come forward. Please contact Homicide detectives directly at 504-658-5300. For those who wish to provide information anonymously, contact Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
