Mobile County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Suspect in Violent Gas Station Robbery and Assault in Prichard

PRICHARD, AL – [BuzzReport]– The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) is appealing to the public for assistance in identifying and apprehending a suspect involved in an armed robbery and assault that occurred early Saturday morning at a Shell gas station in Prichard. A victim was reportedly robbed at gunpoint and violently struck in the head during the incident.

According to a release issued by the MCSO, the armed robbery took place around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Shell station located on St. Stephens Road. Authorities state that the assailant emerged from a blue vehicle, possibly identified as a Nissan Altima, before approaching the victim’s vehicle.

The suspect then proceeded to rob the individual at gunpoint. Escalating the violence, the perpetrator allegedly used the handle of the firearm to strike the victim in the head before returning to the blue car. The suspect then fled the scene, heading northbound on St. Stephens Road.

The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office has provided a detailed description of the suspect, who is described as an African American male, estimated to be between 30 and 40 years old. He has short hair and a goatee. A distinctive identifying feature is a missing tooth in the upper part of his mouth. At the time of the robbery, he was reportedly wearing black pants and no shirt.

The condition of the victim was not immediately released by authorities, but they did sustain an injury to the head during the incident.
