Lexington, KY (BuzzReport) – A series of violent incidents happened on Sunday, resulting in the deaths of three individuals, including the suspect, and injuries to several others, including a Kentucky State Trooper.

The suspect, identified as Guy House, was involved in two connected shootings. The first incident occurred on Terminal Drive, where a state trooper was wounded. The second incident took place at Richmond Road Baptist Church, where multiple victims were shot.

According to authorities, the incident began around 11:36 a.m. when House allegedly shot the Kentucky State Trooper on Terminal Drive. The trooper was transported to a nearby hospital and is listed in stable condition.

House then carjacked a vehicle in the 3700 block of Belleau Wood Drive without reporting any injuries. Law enforcement tracked the suspect’s movement to Richmond Road Baptist Church, where police responded to reports of an active shooting involving multiple victims.

Upon arrival, officers confronted House, resulting in an officer-involved shooting. House was fatally shot by police and pronounced deceased at the scene. Two female victims at the church, Beverly Gumm, 72, and Kristy McCombs, 32, succumbed to their injuries. Two male victims are receiving treatment for their injuries at a local hospital.

The Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team has joined the investigation to provide oversight and transparency. This is an ongoing investigation. Law enforcement agencies will continue to release updated information once available.
