Prichard, AL (BuzzReport) – A high-speed chase came to an end early Friday morning in Mobile County, resulting in the arrest of two men and a manhunt for a third individual. According to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, deputies attempted to pull over a vehicle in Prichard at 1:14 a.m. on Friday. The driver refused to comply and led deputies on a chase that continued onto I-10 and eventually ended on Dauphin Island Parkway. Deputies utilized a PIT maneuver to bring the vehicle to a stop. During the subsequent arrest, 18-year-old Zachery Reed, the alleged driver, was shot in the buttocks by a deputy’s gun. Reed was transported to the hospital and later released. Both Reed and 18-year-old Anthony Phillips, the front passenger, were taken into custody and transported to Metro Jail. Reed faces charges of attempt to elude, resisting arrest, and reckless endangerment. The identity of the backseat passenger, who fled the scene, has not been released. Deputies are actively searching for the individual. Further information will be provided as the investigation unfolds.
