Prichard, AL (BuzzReport) – In a tragic incident that shook the community, officials have confirmed the identity of the man who lost his life in a drowning accident at Chickasabogue Park on Saturday afternoon. According to a news release from the Prichard Police Department, the victim has been identified as 63-year-old Ennis Holbert Smith Jr., a resident of Saraland, Alabama.

The incident prompted a swift response from Prichard’s police and fire departments, who worked tirelessly to recover Smith’s body from Chickasabogue Creek. The search efforts were supported by units from Satsuma, Saraland, and the Mobile County Sheriff’s Flotilla.

This morning, city officials shared the heartbreaking news with the public, and Mayor Jimmie Gardner released a statement extending his condolences to the Smith family. “My heart goes out to the Smith family during this difficult time,” Mayor Gardner said. “We share in their grief and offer our deepest condolences.”
