Prichard, AL (BuzzReport) – A somber scene unfolded at Chickasabogue Park on Saturday evening, as emergency responders rushed to the popular recreational spot following reports of a drowning.

At approximately 4:40 p.m., authorities received a distress call regarding a possible drowning in Chickasabogue Creek, which runs through the park. Prichard police and fire department units swiftly responded to the scene, and a multi-agency effort was launched to locate the victim.

A collaborative search effort involving Satsuma, Saraland, and Mobile County Sheriff’s Flotilla units combed Chickasabogue Creek, ultimately recovering the body of a black male from the water at around 7:41 p.m.

While authorities are working diligently to piece together the circumstances surrounding the incident, the victim’s name has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
