Daphne, AL (BuzzReport) – The Daphne Police Department is cautioning residents about a home security business that has been conducting door-to-door solicitation in the area. Vivint Smart, a home security company, has been reported to be using aggressive sales tactics, leaving some residents feeling uncomfortable and pressured.

According to the police department, several online sources, including the Federal Trade Commission, have reported that Vivint Smart has used deceptive business practices in the past. As a result, the Daphne Police Department has taken action, citing one of the sales staff after providing multiple warnings.

Residential solicitation is prohibited by city ordinance in Daphne. Residents who are contacted by door-to-door salespeople are urged to call the Daphne Police Department at 251-620-0911.

The police department is encouraging residents to be vigilant and to report any further incidents with Vivint Smart or other door-to-door sales companies. By working together, residents can help maintain a safe and respectful community.
