SPENCER COUNTY, Ind. (BuzzReport)– A swift and decisive investigation by Spencer County deputies has led to the safe recovery of a missing teenage girl and the apprehension of a man wanted on child molestation charges, after the pair were discovered together in an area motel.

The successful operation unfolded early Thursday morning when deputies, following leads in the missing person case, tracked the individuals to the One Life Hotel on Highway 41.

Upon arrival, deputies reported that the missing teen initially answered the door to their room but immediately slammed it shut. Moments later, 26-year-old Christopher Gamble emerged. Deputies promptly placed Gamble into handcuffs, acting on existing warrants for child molestation.

Despite Gamble’s claims that he was alone in the room, a deputy on the phone with the missing girl’s mother received crucial information that the teen was still inside. A subsequent search of the premises by law enforcement confirmed the mother’s tip, locating the missing girl hiding within the motel room’s ceiling.

Gamble is currently being held in the Vanderburgh County Jail. In addition to the child molestation warrants, he now faces new charges including contributing to the delinquency of a minor, false informing, and a sex offender registration violation. The swift action of Spencer County deputies ensured the safe return of the missing teen and brought a wanted individual into custody.
