NEW YORK (BuzzReport) — A key development occurred Monday in the sex trafficking trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs when U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian dismissed a juror. The judge’s decision was based on the juror providing conflicting answers regarding his primary residence, leading Subramanian to conclude that the inconsistencies raised serious concerns about the juror’s truthfulness and potential motives for seeking to remain on the jury panel. Judge Subramanian finalized the dismissal after initially announcing his intention late Friday and hearing further arguments. He explained that reviewing the juror’s statements during jury selection and subsequent questioning revealed “clear inconsistencies” that undermined his credibility. The judge emphasized that maintaining the integrity of the judicial process necessitated the juror’s removal, stating that nothing the juror could now say would restore his credibility, and rejected a request for further questioning. Combs’ defense team strongly opposed the dismissal, arguing it would disrupt the jury’s diversity by replacing the Black man with a white alternate. They also used the opportunity to accuse prosecutors of “misconduct” and a “coordinated effort to try to destroy one of the most successful Black men in American history,” claiming the government’s case was solely focused on Combs’ private life. Judge Subramanian rejected these arguments, stating that race could not factor into the decision and finding “zero evidence” of prosecutorial misconduct, denying the defense’s third request for a mistrial. Amidst these procedural developments, the trial, now in its sixth week, continued with the prosecution presenting further evidence. Prosecutors, who indicated they expect to rest their case sometime this week, called a summary witness to read aloud numerous text messages not previously shown to the jury. These exchanges involved Combs, his chief of staff Kristina Khorram, and a woman identified as “Jane,” who dated Combs from 2021 until his arrest. The revealed texts included messages from Jane complaining to Combs about their “hotel night” and “wild king night” lifestyle, expressing that she felt exploited and confused, particularly after the lawsuit filed by Cassie Ventura. More critically, texts to Khorram detailed Jane’s claims that Combs had threatened to release explicit videos of her with other men to her “baby daddy.” Jane alleged she was heavily drugged in the tapes and stated Combs was having an “evil-ass psychotic bipolar” episode when making the threat.
