Slidell, LA (BuzzReport) – Quick action by the Slidell Police Department resulted in the swift arrest of a man suspected of repeatedly stabbing his girlfriend in a violent incident that occurred earlier today.

Just after noon on Thursday, June 12, 2025, officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Ninth Street following reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, authorities discovered that a 36-year-old man, identified as Bryant Irvin of New Orleans, had allegedly stabbed his girlfriend multiple times at her home.

Witnesses reported seeing Irvin fleeing the scene on foot, erratically running through the Brugier neighborhood while still in possession of the knife used in the attack.

Responding officers immediately flooded the area and, within a mere four minutes of the initial call, located Irvin. He reportedly surrendered the weapon and was taken into custody without incident.

Irvin was subsequently booked into the Slidell City Jail on one count of Attempted Second Degree Homicide.

The victim, whose name has not been released, sustained life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition. She is currently receiving medical treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

The Slidell Police Department is continuing its investigation into the circumstances surrounding this disturbing incident.
