Mother and Son Dead in Ross Street Shooting, Mobile Police Investigate

Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) – Mobile Police Department (MPD) is investigating a tragic shooting on Ross Street that left a mother and son dead on Sunday evening. According to authorities, the incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of Ross Street.

Police have identified the deceased as 52-year-old Traci McDuffie and her son, 25-year-old Brandon McDuffie.

MPD officials reported that Brandon McDuffie allegedly shot and killed his mother, Traci McDuffie. The sequence of events escalated when Brandon’s brother, and Traci’s other son, discovered the scene. Authorities stated that Brandon then fired towards his brother, prompting the brother to return fire.

Brandon McDuffie was struck by gunfire and pronounced dead at the scene.

The MPD has stated that Traci McDuffie’s death is considered abated due to Brandon McDuffie’s death.

The case surrounding Brandon McDuffie’s death will now be presented to a grand jury to determine if further action is warranted.
