Bay Minette, AL – A Bay Minette Police Officer made a significant arrest on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, after discovering a felon in possession of a firearm and various controlled substances.

According to police, an officer on routine patrol noticed a vehicles stationary on D’Olive Street with the driver, Anthony Maurice Parker Jr of Mobile, AL, asleep behind the wheel. The vehicle’s engine was still running, and the transmission was in drive.

Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer observed a handgun in plain view and detected a strong odor of marijuana. Further investigation revealed Parker’s status as a previously convicted felon, with past convictions including Robbery 1st and Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess Firearms.

A probable cause search of the vehicle yielded 36 grams of marijuana, 11 grams of synthetic marijuana, 80 ecstasy pills, and a loaded 9mm handgun. Parker was subsequently arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including:

  • Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess a Firearm
  • Unlawful Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance
  • Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree
  • Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Parker is being held at the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Correctional Facility on a $23,500 bond. The case remains under investigation by the Bay Minette Police Department.
