Prichard Police Investigate Shooting Incident on Reynolds Ave, One Arrest Made

PRICHARD, AL – On Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at approximately 2:30 pm, the Prichard Police Department responded to a call reporting a shooting at 736 Reynolds Ave. The victim, a male, reported being shot by his neighbor.

Upon arrival, officers secured the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. The alleged shooter, 46-year-old Miya Houston, was detained at the scene.

According to authorities, Houston claimed the shooting occurred after an altercation with the victim, whom she stated had previously suspected her involvement in a homicide near her residence. Houston also alleged that the victim had been following her and that she had reported these incidents to local law enforcement.

The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Detectives and Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene and are investigating the incident. A search warrant has been prepared to obtain footage from cameras at the residence.

Houston has been charged with Assault 1st Degree. The victim’s condition is currently unknown. The investigation is ongoing.
