The New Orleans Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a suspect wanted for felony contract fraud. Ray Nikdast, a 68-year-old white male, is accused of violating Louisiana Revised Statute 14:202.1, relative to Residential Contractor Fraud.

According to investigators, Nikdast entered into a contract with a victim in October 2024 for a home renovation project in the 100 block of Lakewood Estates. However, Nikdast allegedly failed to fulfill the contract, completing only a small percentage of the agreed-upon work by February 2025. When the victim terminated the contract, efforts to retrieve funds paid to Nikdast for uncompleted work were unsuccessful.

Nikdast’s last known residence is in Metairie, Louisiana. He is described as a white male, standing at 5’9″ and weighing 165 pounds, with a date of birth of March 26, 1956.

The New Orleans Police Department is urging anyone with information regarding the crime or Nikdast’s location to come forward. Fourth District detectives can be reached at 504-658-6040, or individuals can anonymously call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.

The police department appreciates the public’s assistance in this matter and encourages anyone with information to contact the authorities.
