Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) – A bomb threat at a local hospital has led to the arrest of an employee at Springhill Medical Center.

According to the Mobile Police Department, 32-year-old Elizabeth Marie Bass was taken into custody following a reported bomb threat that occurred overnight. Officers responded to the hospital at approximately 2 a.m. on Thursday, May 1, after receiving the alarming call.

Upon arrival, police discovered that the bomb threat originated from within the hospital itself. The caller, later identified as Bass, requested an evacuation of the building, raising immediate concerns for the safety of both patients and staff.

Investigations revealed that Bass was responsible for the distressing call, resulting in her being charged with second-degree making terroristic threats. She was subsequently transported to Mobile Metro Jail, where she awaits further legal proceedings.

This incident has raised serious questions regarding safety protocols and the potential consequences of making false threats in a healthcare setting. The Mobile Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the event.
