Mobile, AL – At approximately 8:30 a.m. this morning, the Alabama Department of Corrections reported that 51-year-old inmate Randy Jerome Richburg escaped while working at a work release program in Mobile County. Richburg was last seen wearing blue jean pants, a blue-and-green shirt, and white tennis shoes. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding Richburg’s whereabouts to contact the Alabama Department of Corrections or local law enforcement immediately. Richburg has served 14 years of a 20-year term after being convicted of second-degree receiving stolen property. He was scheduled to be released in 2023. The Alabama Department of Corrections is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding Richburg’s escape and is working closely with local law enforcement to ensure his safe capture.
