Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) — A routine traffic stop turned into a brief police pursuit early Monday morning after a driver allegedly refused to stop for officers along Interstate 65 in Mobile.

According to police, the incident happened on Monday, October 5, 2026, at approximately 2:40 a.m., when officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop in the area of I-65 South and Government Boulevard.

Instead of stopping, the driver allegedly continued traveling south, leading officers on a brief pursuit.

The pursuit came to an abrupt end near the I-65 South and I-10 East area when the vehicle struck a retaining wall.

Officers responded to the crash and took the driver into custody. No injuries were reported in connection with the pursuit or collision.

Police identified the driver as 23-year-old Camdyn Stoudemire, who was arrested and transported to Metro Jail.

The incident remains part of the ongoing law-enforcement investigation. Any additional charges or details will depend on the findings of investigators and the circumstances surrounding the traffic stop and subsequent pursuit.

As with all criminal allegations, Stoudemire is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
