Mobile, AL (BuzzReport)—Mobile police arrested a 28-year-old man Wednesday evening after a traffic stop escalated into a brief foot pursuit, authorities said. Officers also discovered that a juvenile had been left unattended inside the vehicle when the man fled.

The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. on September 9, 2026, in the 1000 block of Alba Street in Mobile, according to information provided to BuzzReport.

Traffic Stop Leads to Foot Pursuit

Officers initially observed a traffic violation and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The adult male driver pulled into the driveway of a residence before leaving the vehicle and attempting to escape on foot.

Police detained the man a short time later without further incident. He was identified as Alex Coale, 28.

During the investigation, officers determined that Coale had left a juvenile unattended inside the vehicle when he fled from the location. Authorities did not immediately release additional information about the child, including the juvenile’s age, condition, or relationship to Coale.
