BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (BuzzReport) — A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 65 in Baldwin County has caused a significant traffic disruption Saturday afternoon, with all southbound lanes near the 26-mile marker currently closed.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the crash was reported at approximately 3:54 p.m. Saturday, September 5.

The collision prompted the closure of the southbound lanes of I-65 near mile marker 26, and officials say the roadway will remain closed for an undetermined amount of time while emergency crews and investigators work at the scene.

Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are currently on scene investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

At this time, authorities have not released information regarding the number of vehicles involved, whether anyone was injured, or what may have caused the collision.

Drivers traveling southbound on I-65 through Baldwin County should expect major delays and are encouraged to use caution in the area. Motorists should be prepared for stopped or slow-moving traffic as crews work to investigate the crash and clear the roadway.
