Louisville, KY (BuzzReport)—Texas Roadhouse is facing growing criticism online following a series of social media posts containing disturbing allegations about employees allegedly mistreating Black customers.

The allegations, which have circulated widely across social media, claim that some Texas Roadhouse employees were allegedly members of a large private Facebook group where users discussed ways of mistreating Black customers.

Among the most serious claims are allegations that employees discussed or engaged in deliberately contaminating customers’ food, including accusations that employees spit in the food of Black customers.

The allegations have sparked outrage online, with many people calling for the restaurant chain to conduct a thorough investigation and provide answers about whether any employees were involved in the alleged conduct.

It is important to emphasize that the claims circulating online have not been established as fact, and allegations shared on social media can sometimes be incomplete, misleading or entirely unverified. However, accusations involving racial discrimination and the intentional contamination of food are extremely serious and warrant appropriate attention and investigation.

Texas Roadhouse has denied the allegations.

In a statement, the restaurant chain said it believes the claims are “completely unfounded” while emphasizing that it takes accusations involving its brand seriously.

The company also said it was investigating the matter and remains committed to treating customers with “respect, dignity, and the Legendary Service they deserve.”

The controversy comes at a time when businesses continue to face heightened scrutiny over allegations of racial discrimination and unequal treatment of customers. For a national restaurant chain, maintaining public confidence requires more than simply providing quality food and service—it also requires customers to feel safe, respected and welcome regardless of their race.

If an employee were ever found to have intentionally discriminated against a customer or tampered with someone’s food because of their race, such conduct would represent a serious breach of professional responsibility and could have significant consequences for everyone involved.

At the same time, accusations should be investigated carefully and fairly before individuals are publicly identified or held responsible. Social media posts alone do not establish that a crime or act of discrimination occurred, and employees should not be condemned based solely on unverified claims.

For now, Texas Roadhouse says it is standing by its denial while examining the allegations.

The controversy underscores an important point: any allegation of racial discrimination, harassment or intentional food contamination should be taken seriously—but serious allegations also deserve a serious, fact-based investigation.

As the claims continue circulating online, customers and the public will likely be watching closely for additional information and any findings that emerge from the company’s investigation.
