Four Juveniles Injured After Single Gunshot Ricochets at Pensacola Village Apartments

PENSACOLA, FL (BuzzReport)— Four juveniles were injured late Tuesday night after a single gunshot ricocheted near a group of young people at the Pensacola Village Apartments, sending bullet fragments into multiple victims, according to investigators.

The incident unfolded at approximately 11:30 p.m., when officers responded to Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital after receiving reports that a juvenile had arrived suffering from a gunshot wound.

As officers began investigating, they determined the shooting had occurred at the Pensacola Village Apartments. Detectives soon learned that the initial victim was not the only person injured.

A short time later, two additional juvenile victims sought medical treatment at separate hospitals—one at Baptist Hospital and another at Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital. Both reported they had been struck by shrapnel during the same shooting.

Investigators later located a fourth juvenile victim inside an apartment at Pensacola Village. Authorities said the fourth victim had sustained injuries but had not initially reported them to law enforcement.

According to the investigation, all four juveniles had been standing near one another when a single gunshot was fired. Detectives believe the bullet ricocheted near the group, causing fragments or shrapnel to strike each of the victims.

Fortunately, officials said all four juveniles suffered only minor injuries.

The circumstances surrounding what led to the gunfire remain under investigation, and detectives are continuing to gather evidence and interview witnesses. Authorities have not released information about a suspect or a possible motive.

No arrests have been made, and investigators say the case remains active.
