Man Arrested After Allegedly Breaking Into Mobile KFC, Police Say

MOBILE, Ala. (BuzzReport) — A 49-year-old man was arrested early Saturday morning after Mobile police say he allegedly broke into a KFC restaurant on Springhill Avenue and was found on the property with food taken from the business.

According to the Mobile Police Department, officers were dispatched to 2850 Springhill Avenue, the location of a KFC restaurant, at approximately 2:18 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026, following a report of a burglary in progress.

When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered that a glass door had been shattered, indicating that someone had forcibly entered the restaurant.

During their investigation, officers located a male suspect on the property. Police say the individual was found in possession of food belonging to the restaurant, leading officers to believe he had unlawfully entered the business.

The suspect was identified as Walter Pleasant, 49. He was taken into custody without further incident and transported to Mobile Metro Jail, where he was booked in connection with the burglary.

Authorities have not released additional details regarding whether anything else was stolen or the total amount of damage caused to the restaurant during the incident. It is also unclear whether the business experienced any disruption to its operations following the break-in.
