Mobile Police Investigating Death of 67-Year-Old Man Found Inside Murray Hill Court Home

MOBILE, Ala. (BuzzReport)— The Mobile Police Department is conducting an active death investigation after a 67-year-old man was found deceased inside a residence Friday morning in west Mobile.

According to police, officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Murray Hill Court at approximately 11:40 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026, in response to a report of a death investigation.

When officers arrived at the home, they discovered a deceased male who had sustained injuries. Authorities have identified the victim as Roger Sumlin, 67.

Investigators have not yet determined how Sumlin died, and officials say the case remains under investigation from every possible angle. The exact cause and manner of death will not be known until an autopsy is completed by the appropriate medical authorities.

Police have not announced whether foul play is suspected, nor have they released information regarding any persons of interest or possible circumstances leading up to Sumlin’s death.
