Escambia County Deputies Seize More Than Two Pounds of Meth, Cocaine, Fentanyl, and Cash; Suspect Arrested

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, AL (BuzzReport)— A residence authorities describe as a hub for illegal drug activity has been shut down after a major narcotics operation led to the seizure of a large quantity of dangerous drugs, thousands of dollars in cash, and the arrest of a local suspect.

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit, assisted by the agency’s SWAT Team, executed a search warrant on July 24, 2026, at a home located in the 8500 block of Doris Avenue as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.

The operation resulted in what investigators say was a significant blow to the illegal drug trade in the community.

During the search, deputies recovered approximately:

• 1,006.5 grams of methamphetamine — more than two pounds of the highly addictive stimulant.
• 14.5 grams of cocaine.
• 51 grams of alprazolam (Xanax) pills.
• 5.5 grams of oxycodone pills.
• 0.5 grams of fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opioid linked to overdose deaths across the nation.
• 3 grams of tramadol pills.
• 28.5 grams of marijuana.
• $5,364 in U.S. currency, believed to be connected to illegal drug activity.

Following the search, deputies arrested Kelvin Crenshaw, who now faces multiple felony drug charges, including:

• Trafficking in Methamphetamine
• Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Sell, Manufacture, or Deliver
• Possession of Alprazolam with Intent to Sell, Manufacture, or Deliver
• Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell, Manufacture, or Deliver
• Possession of Tramadol Without a Prescription
• Possession of Fentanyl Without a Prescription
• Possession of Oxycodone Without a Prescription
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Law enforcement officials say the investigation underscores the ongoing effort to identify and dismantle locations being used to distribute illegal narcotics throughout Escambia County.

Methamphetamine and fentanyl remain among the most dangerous drugs encountered by investigators, with fentanyl posing a particularly deadly threat because even small amounts can be fatal. Authorities say removing these substances from the streets helps reduce violent crime, overdoses, and other criminal activity often associated with drug trafficking.

The Sheriff’s Office emphasized that operations like this are part of its continued commitment to targeting individuals responsible for distributing illegal narcotics and protecting neighborhoods from the dangers associated with drug houses.
