Woman Shot at Mobile Apartment Complex; 58-Year-Old Man Charged with First-Degree Assault

MOBILE, AL (BuzzReport)— A late-night shooting at a Mobile apartment complex has left a woman hospitalized and a 58-year-old man behind bars facing serious felony charges.

According to the Mobile Police Department, officers responded to Clearview Apartments, located at 639 Azalea Road, at approximately 11:52 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2026, after receiving reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel responded and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities have not released information regarding the extent of her injuries or her current condition.

As detectives continued processing the scene, investigators determined that an unoccupied vehicle had also been struck by gunfire during the incident, adding another layer to the investigation.

Following the preliminary investigation, police arrested Marchell Jackson, 58, in connection with the shooting.

Jackson was transported to the Mobile Metro Jail and has been charged with:
