BELFOREST, AL (BuzzReport)— A Baldwin County neighborhood was shattered by violence Sunday night after authorities say a domestic dispute turned deadly, leaving a woman dead, a man critically injured, and the couple’s 17-year-old son facing murder charges as an adult.

According to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a home in the 26000 block of Augustine Drive in the Belforest community around 9 p.m. after receiving reports of a stabbing.

When deputies arrived, they discovered two victims suffering from apparent stab wounds. Law enforcement officers immediately began rendering aid until emergency medical personnel arrived on the scene.

Officials said the female victim suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The male victim sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a nearby hospital, where he remains under medical care.

Investigators have identified the suspect as the victims’ 17-year-old son. Authorities confirmed he was taken into custody at the scene without incident and has been charged as an adult with one count of murder and one count of attempted murder.

Because the suspect is a juvenile, the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office said his identity will not be released at this time. The names of the victims are also being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Investigators believe the violence stemmed from an isolated domestic incident, and officials emphasized there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The heartbreaking case has left neighbors in the normally peaceful Belforest community searching for answers as investigators continue working to determine what led to the deadly confrontation inside the home.

The investigation remains active, and additional details are expected to be released as authorities continue processing evidence and conducting interviews.
