Naked Man Shot After Violent Confrontation During Flooding Emergency in Biloxi

BILOXI, Miss. (BuzzReport) — A bizarre and violent incident during severe flooding conditions in Biloxi ended with a man dead after authorities say he attacked a homeowner’s neighbor while naked before disappearing back into rising floodwaters.

According to Biloxi Police, the incident began around 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026, when dispatchers received a 911 call from the 11000 block of Woolmarket Lake Road. The homeowner, who was not at the residence at the time, reported seeing a naked white male on their Ring doorbell camera emerge from the Biloxi River, walk up the stairs of the home, and enter the porch area.

Police said dispatchers simultaneously received multiple calls from residents in the surrounding area reporting sightings of a naked man wandering through the flooded neighborhood.

Authorities said the homeowner then contacted a next-door neighbor and asked him to check on the property. The neighbor reportedly approached the residence and encountered the naked man standing on the porch. According to investigators, the neighbor attempted to speak with the individual, informed him that the homeowner had asked him to check on the property, and asked if he needed assistance.

That encounter quickly turned violent.

Police said the naked man suddenly charged at the neighbor and physically attacked him. During the struggle, the neighbor fired multiple shots, striking the man. Despite being shot, investigators say the suspect continued the assault.

During the altercation, authorities said the man managed to disarm the neighbor before fleeing the area and returning into the floodwaters near the Biloxi River.

The dangerous flooding conditions significantly complicated emergency response efforts. Police said emergency vehicles were unable to access the neighborhood due to high water levels, forcing officers and first responders to travel into the area by rescue boat.

Once officers arrived, they located the neighbor suffering from facial lacerations and bruising consistent with a violent struggle. Investigators also reviewed footage from the home’s security camera system, which reportedly captured the entire incident.

A large-scale search operation was launched using rescue boats to search the flooded area for the suspect. After several hours, authorities located the body of the man on shore near the area where the confrontation occurred.

The body was discovered at approximately 2:00 a.m. Sunday, May 24.

Officials have not yet publicly identified the deceased man, and investigators have not released details regarding the cause of death pending autopsy results. It also remains unclear what led the man to enter the flooded neighborhood or emerge from the river naked.

Biloxi Police continue to investigate the incident.
