Robertsdale, AL (BuzzReport)- A vehicle pursuit that began in Summerdale escalated rapidly Wednesday before coming to a controlled end on the campus of Central Baldwin Middle School, where deputies executed a precision maneuver to stop the fleeing driver and protect the public.

According to authorities, the pursuit concluded when deputies performed a PIT (Precision Immobilization Technique) maneuver directly in front of the school, successfully disabling the vehicle. The decisive action brought the situation to a halt before it could pose a greater threat to motorists or nearby residents.

Because the suspect’s vehicle came to rest on school property, administrators immediately placed the campus on lockdown as a precaution. Law enforcement officials confirmed that the suspect never attempted to enter the building and that there was no direct threat to students, faculty, or staff at any point during the incident.

School Resource Officers coordinated closely with administrators to activate established safety protocols, ensuring that students remained secure while deputies worked the scene. The lockdown was lifted shortly after the suspect was taken into custody and authorities confirmed the area was safe.

The suspect, whose identity has not yet been released, was arrested at the scene and is now facing multiple charges, including felony attempt to elude law enforcement and drug-related offenses.

Officials emphasized that no injuries were reported, crediting the swift and coordinated response of deputies and school personnel for preventing what could have become a far more dangerous situation.

Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing.
