Montgomery Man Charged with Attempted Murder in Early Morning Shooting

Montgomery, Ala. (BuzzReport) — A 67-year-old man is facing a serious felony charge following an early morning violent incident in Montgomery.

According to the Montgomery Police Department (MPD), Leroy Nix, 67, has been charged with Attempted Murder in connection to a shooting that occurred on April 7, 2026, at approximately 2:40 a.m. in the 800 block of Rosa L. Parks Avenue.

Authorities say Nix was quickly identified as the suspect during the course of the investigation. He was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility, where he has been formally booked on the charge.
