NEW ORLEANS, La. (BuzzReport) — Authorities in New Orleans have launched an urgent investigation into the disappearance of a 34-year-old woman now considered to be at high risk, as detectives work to locate both her and a man identified as a person of interest who has also been reported missing.

The New Orleans Police Department’s Special Victims Division confirmed Tuesday that it has been reassigned to lead the critically missing person case involving Christine Wiltz, who was last seen in the early morning hours of Friday, March 27.

According to investigators, Wiltz was last observed between approximately 3:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. after she reportedly picked up a man identified as McArthur Mackey, 42. Detectives say the interaction occurred shortly before Wiltz disappeared, marking the last known contact she had before her whereabouts became unknown.

At the time, Wiltz was driving a 2009 Lincoln MKX SUV, described as having visible damage to the rear passenger side. Authorities noted that the vehicle’s license plate information is not currently available, complicating efforts to track its movements.

During the course of the investigation, detectives identified Mackey as a person of interest in the case. Law enforcement officials revealed that Mackey has a documented history of violent behavior. Adding to the urgency, investigators have since learned that Mackey himself was reported missing around the same time as Wiltz, raising additional concerns and questions about the circumstances surrounding both disappearances.

Officials warn that Wiltz may be in immediate danger. “Investigators believe Christine Wiltz may be at high risk for exploitation and/or serious physical harm,” authorities stated, emphasizing the need for swift public assistance.

The case remains active and ongoing, with detectives following leads and working to establish a timeline of events that could explain the sudden disappearance of both individuals.

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Christine Wiltz or McArthur Mackey to contact Special Victims Division detectives at 504-658-5267 or 504-658-5523.
