Centerpoint, AL (BuzzReport) — Authorities in Jefferson County are investigating a shooting that left an 18-year-old male injured Friday evening in Center Point.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at approximately 5:38 p.m. on March 20, 2026, to the 10 block of Polly Reed Road NE following reports of gunfire in the area.
When deputies arrived on scene, they located the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Emergency responders with Center Point Fire & Rescue provided immediate medical assistance before transporting the victim to UAB Hospital. Officials confirmed that the injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
Investigators have not released details regarding what led up to the shooting, and no arrests have been announced at this time. Authorities say the case remains active as they work to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
As part of the ongoing investigation, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has released images of individuals believed to be persons of interest who may have information relevant to the case. Officials are urging members of the public to come forward if they recognize anyone in the photos or have knowledge that could assist investigators.
