Mobile Man Appears in Court on Murder, Burglary Charges in Deadly Domestic Shooting

Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) – A man accused in a deadly domestic shooting in Mobile has appeared in court as he faces multiple serious charges stemming from the incident.

Desmond Longmire has been charged with murder and burglary in connection to the death of 40-year-old Shea-Naka Poindexter.

According to the Mobile Police Department, officers were dispatched to Vienna Avenue early Saturday morning following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered Poindexter suffering from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say the shooting occurred during a domestic-related incident, alleging that Longmire shot Poindexter during the encounter. Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances leading up to the shooting.

Longmire appeared before a judge for a bond hearing, where his bond was set at $720,000. He is currently being held at Metro Jail.

The case remains under investigation, and no further information has been released at this time.
