Theodore, AL (BuzzReport) — A 34-year-old Theodore woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Saturday morning, and authorities are urging the public to come forward with any information that could help identify the driver involved.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), Amanda C. Godwin, 34, was in the roadway when she was struck by an unidentified vehicle. The driver fled the scene immediately following the collision, and the vehicle has not yet been located.

Godwin was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash occurred at approximately 1:46 a.m. on Saturday along Theodore Dawes Road near Gunn Road, roughly three miles west of the Mobile city limits in Mobile County.

Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are actively investigating the incident. At this time, no description of the suspect vehicle has been released.

Authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who has information that could assist in identifying the vehicle or driver to contact ALEA’s Mobile office.

The investigation remains ongoing.
