Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) — A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal overnight shooting that police say stemmed from a domestic incident in Mobile.
According to the Mobile Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026, to the 5400 block of Vienna Avenue following reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound. Authorities confirmed that the victim sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary findings from investigators indicate that the shooting occurred during a domestic-related incident involving a known male subject. Following the investigation, police identified the suspect as 39-year-old Desmond Longmire.
Longmire was taken into custody without incident and transported to Mobile Metro Jail, where he remains in custody as the case proceeds.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
Officials say the investigation remains ongoing, and no additional details are being released at this time.
